SA8000 is a management systems standard, modelled on ISO standards, developed by Social Accountability International in 1989. SA8000 is linked to ISO 26000 as it is a standard for social accountability while ISO 26000 is the guidance that helps with the implementation of social accountability.

  • If there are nonconformities, then the organization must present an improvement plan.
  • When appropriate improvements are made, certificate is issued.
